SECURITY & PRIVACY FIRST

Privacy Policy

Your trust is the foundation of our cybersecurity defense app. Here is a clear, transparent breakdown of how ScamSafe handles and safeguards your information.

App: ScamSafe (rocks.uxi.scmsf) Effective Date: July 25, 2026 Last Updated: September 9, 2026

01. Overview

Welcome to ScamSafe ("we", "our", or "us"). ScamSafe is an anti-fraud cybersecurity mobile application created to help users detect, check, and report online scam activities including deceptive usernames, phishing emails, fraudulent phone numbers, and malicious URLs.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and disclose information when you download, install, or use our mobile application (Package ID: rocks.uxi.scmsf).

02. Information We Collect

To provide our anti-scam lookup and verification services, we collect minimal and necessary information:

  • Information You Explicitly Provide for Verification: When you initiate a query (e.g., checking a username, email address, phone number, or URL link), that query data is processed to cross-reference against our scam intelligence database and public bulletins.
  • Scam Incident Reports: If you submit a scam report through the app, we collect the details you voluntarily submit (such as the target scammer profile, description of incident, associated URLs, or contact numbers).
  • Technical Device Data: We may collect non-identifying technical metadata including your device model, Android OS version, application version, and temporary IP address for rate-limiting, preventing DDoS attacks, and ensuring server security.

What We DO NOT Collect:

We do NOT harvest your personal phone contacts, GPS location logs, private text messages, photos, financial account credentials, or sensor data.

03. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for legitimate cybersecurity defense and application operations, including:

  • Executing real-time lookup queries for reported scam accounts, emails, numbers, and malicious URLs.
  • Verifying and aggregating user-submitted scam incident reports to alert the public community.
  • Improving the accuracy of our anti-fraud detection algorithms and threat intelligence databases.
  • Maintaining application stability, preventing API abuse, and monitoring performance.

04. Government & Official Cybersecurity Partnerships

To bolster cybersecurity defense and protect users against transnational and cyber crimes, ScamSafe collaborates with recognized government cybercrime agencies:

Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC)
Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC)

De-identified scam indicator data and verified incident telemetry may be shared with these official partners to assist in public cyber threat advisories, cybercrime investigations, and law enforcement actions.

05. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We strictly protect your information and do NOT sell, trade, rent, or lease user data to commercial third-party advertisers.

Information may only be disclosed under the following limited circumstances:

  • Law Enforcement & Legal Compliance: When required by court order, subpoena, or applicable cybercrime laws (e.g., Data Privacy Act of 2012).
  • Public Safety & Threat Intelligence: Aggregated, non-personally identifiable indicators (such as malicious domain lists) published on public bulletins for community protection.

06. Data Security

We employ robust industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration:

  • Encryption in Transit: All communications between the ScamSafe mobile app and our servers are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).
  • Access Controls: Server infrastructure access is strictly limited to authorized cybersecurity personnel.
  • Data Minimization: Search queries are processed in memory or securely anonymized where possible.

07. User Rights & Data Retention

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have rights regarding your data, including:

  • The right to request clarification on data collected about your queries or reports.
  • The right to request the deletion or removal of an incident report submitted by you.

We retain submitted scam report data only for as long as necessary to maintain the integrity of public threat bulletins and support law enforcement anti-fraud verification.

08. Children's Privacy

The ScamSafe application is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

09. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements to our features, legal requirements, or security protocols. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
